A lot has been said about Millennials in the workplace. Some people still believe this is a hype subject without a real impact on the company\u2019s long term strategy. About 5 years ago I was in my living room with my dad, who\u2019s a Traditionalist [generation born between 1922\u20131945], and he started telling me how much he was struggling with his new students at Med School, he told me they were not, \u201cwhat they used to be\u201d. I realized everything that he \u201cdisliked about them\u201d, were things that I did regularly \u2013 texting all the time, not paying attention, checking my Facebook every hour or so, and just feeling OK about it. Instead of defending what was clearly personal, I just realized that there was a gap between what he though was the \u201cright thing to do\u201d and what I thought \u201cwas the right thing to do\u201d and so I started \u201ccoaching\u201d my dad on how manage and address this \u201cnew generation of students\u201d and the impact was huge. My dad became more approachable and the overall class performance increased significantly\u2026<\/p>\n
